Utiel-Requena

Content produced in partnership with the DO Utiel-Requena

Utiel-Requena is a relative newcomer, both to wine lists and to wine shelves, but winemaking has been taking place in the region as far back as the 7th century BC.

It’s indigenous grape variety is the Bobal grape, which accounts for 70% of plantings, but permitted grapes include international varieties such as Caberent Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
